Multisport courts are sports facilities designed to allow the practice of a variety of sports in a single location.

They are ideal for parks, schools, gyms and sports centers, as they offer great versatility for the practice of different sports and physical activities. In addition, they are often a more economical option than building several separate courts for each sport. And an excellent option for children and young people, since they have the opportunity to experience and practice different sports in one place.

Multisport courts can be designed for indoor or outdoor use, and can have a variety of features, such as safety fencing, lighting, rest areas and support services.

For what type of sports?

Some of The most common sports played on these courts are basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, badminton, tennis and field hockey. They are also popular for physical activities such as high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and general fitness.

Basketball is one of the most common sports played on multi-sport courts. These courts are usually equipped with adjustable basketball poles that allow people of different ages and heights to play in the same place. In addition, some of these fields also have demarcation lines for half-court basketball games.

Volleyball is another one. The even court surface provides a good bounce for the ball and most facilities have an adjustable volleyball net.

Futsal, also known as futsal, is a sport similar to traditional soccer but played on a smaller court. Multisport courts are ideal for this sport as they can be easily adapted to an indoor soccer field. In addition, being a closed court, the ball is not lost outside the field and can be played without interruptions.

Badminton and tennis are racquet sports that can also be played on the multisport courts. The smooth and even surface of the court provides a good bounce for the ball or shuttlecock, allowing for a good game. These courts are usually equipped with demarcation lines for doubles or singles matches.

Advantages of multisport courts

Multisport courts offer numerous advantages. Some of them are:

Versatility: The main advantage of multisport courts is their versatility. Designed for the practice of various sports and physical activities, these facilities allow people to enjoy different sports without having to travel to different locations.

Space saving: Multisport courts are an excellent option for sports centers with space limitations, since they allow making the most of a reduced space. Instead of building several separate courts for each sport, you can have a single facility that meets the needs of several sports.

Economic savings: The construction and maintenance of several separate courts for each sport can be costly. Multisport courts are a more economical option, as they reduce construction and maintenance costs.

Promotes physical activity: They allow people of all ages and abilities to enjoy different sports and physical activities, which encourages an active and healthy lifestyle.

A very frequent question that many people ask is what are the types of network sports. To talk about network sports, first of all, we must know their definition. In this sense, a net sport is characterized by the use of a net and has the general objective of throwing a ball over a net into the opponent’s court, trying to make it difficult to return it, or to score inside a net.

In some net sports, the ball is allowed to bounce on the court, such as tennis and paddle tennis. In other modalities, if the ball or the object of the dispute touches the field of play, a point is scored. This is for example the case of volleyball.

If we compare them with wall sports, they are different. In these, the competitors are the ones who alternate attacking the ball and hitting it against a rebounding wall, as in the case of squash. The point is scored when one of the players does not respond to the opponent’s attacks.

In today’s article we want to tell you a little more about these net sports and which ones are the best known.

What are the network sports?

There are several

net sports

among which we can highlight the following, which are the best known. However, we must not forget that there are others that are less well known.

Soccer

Indoor soccer

Padel

Tennis

Badminton

Basketball

Tennis

Tennis is a game played on a court that is rectangular in shape, which can be one of many surfaces. It is played with two players, when it is a single game, or four players, when it is a double game. Players arrange themselves on opposite sides of the net and use a string racket to hit the ball back and forth.

Tennis can be played on clay, cement or grass courts.

Paddle

Paddle is a sport that is played in pairs, two against two, and whose objective is that, by means of a single stroke, the ball passes to the opponent’s court. The main difference between tennis and paddle is that paddle is played with a paddle and tennis is played with a racket. The tennis racquet has strings, which are intertwined strings that have a certain pressure and allow the ball to be released with more speed. While the blade is made of dense material and has some holes to be lighter.

Badminton

Badminton is a net sport in which players have to hit the shuttlecock with their rackets to throw it over the net to the opponent’s court. A point is scored when it falls to the floor of the opponent’s court without being returned. It is a sport that in recent years is gaining followers.

Volley

Volleyball is a team sport where two teams face each other on a smooth playing field separated by a central net, with the objective of passing the ball over the net to the floor of the opposing court without the other team being able to return it.

Beach Volleyball

Beach volleyball is volleyball played on sand. As in volleyball, the game is played in teams and the aim is to get the ball into the opponent’s court.

As you can see, there are many
types of net sports
and as always in

Basketball is one of the sports with the most followers and fans. It is also one of the most played sports in Spain and around the world. In fact, a basketball game is a unique spectacle that brings together many spectators and raises the spirits. True fans of the sport enjoy watching the games of their favorite teams.

In addition, basketball is one of the most popular sports. Since childhood, it is usually included in schools as an extracurricular activity. This makes it a lively and dynamic sport.

Types of basketball baskets

One of the questions that often arises is how tall the baskets are. We can find a great variety of basketball goals, such as the fixed ones that are anchored to the ground, the transportable ones, which allow their mobility from one place to another in a simple way or the anti-vandalism ones, which are usually more resistant and safer. Although there are different models, what does not vary are the measurements, both in the height of the hoop and in the dimensions of the board. These measurements are standardized and approved according to the regulations.

In this regard, we must differentiate between basketball baskets, which are those used from 12 years of age, and basketball baskets for children, which are those used for children from 6 to 12 years of age. The latter are known as mini-basketball.

The height of the basketball hoop is 3.05 meters. And this height is the one that applies in any country or league for adult basketball, whether for men’s or women’s basketball. This measurement is taken from the ground to the top of the hoop.

And as far as the height of the children’s basketball hoop is concerned, it is 2.60 meters. The justification is more than reasonable, since it is expected that a child between 6 and 12 years of age is not tall enough or strong enough to make a basket at a height of 3 meters.

It should be noted that, in children’s basketball, the backboard also has a smaller size, and the basketball has a smaller size.

We are sure that if you have arrived here it is because you like sports as much as we do. So the topic we are going to talk about today is going to be very entertaining for you, soccer fields and their dimensions to be more precise.

It is quite possible that on more than one occasion, especially when watching a game, this question has arisen, How many square meters is a soccer field? Although this is not a one-answer question, we will try to be as clear as possible to clear up this doubt so that you are not left with curiosity.

Square meters of a soccer field with La Liga and FIFA approval

As far as the field of play is concerned, not counting the total space of the soccer field, which also includes other areas such as bleachers, changing rooms and other facilities, it must comply with minimum measurements.

Professional soccer fields must be a minimum of 45 meters wide and a maximum of 90 meters. If we talk about the fields we have in our country, the average is in the 70 meters.

As for the length, the minimum length is 90 meters and the maximum length is 120 meters. And the average in this case is around 105 meters.

As you can see, there are no specific square meters that are the same for all soccer fields, but they can be between that range of minimum and maximum width and length.

Square meters of soccer fields according to playing category

For the U-16 level, which includes for example recreational play, inter-regional and inter-local competitions, the recommended field dimensions are 60 meters wide by 100 meters long. But if we are talking about the regulations, and not what is recommended, it should be at least 50 meters wide and 90 meters long.

If we enter into competitions between soccer teams at the national level, the size of the soccer field changes. The width for U-18 is 60 meters wide and 100 meters long, for 2nd B and 3rd division 64 meters wide and 100 meters long. And finally, for the Spanish Championship, to play the Super Cup, the RFEF Cup, 1st and 2nd division, the field must measure 68 meters wide by 105 meters long.

Since its invention, paddle tennis is a sport that has not stopped reaping success and gaining followers. Whether at the professional or amateur level, the truth is that it is a sport that, far from being a passing fad, has become a mass sport that year after year continues to demonstrate that it is a living sport.

But… where did this sport originate?

It is complicated to give an answer to this question. There are several versions of the history of the origin of paddle tennis.

Origins of paddle tennis

According to the most widely recognized version, which is the official one of the
Spanish Padel Federation
and the same as the one offered by the
International Federation
Padel was born in 1969 in Acapulco, Argentina. At that time, Enrique Corcuera, who is considered the inventor of paddle tennis, was in love with the fronton, which he practiced on a fronton court he had at home. It occurred to him to incorporate to his track a wall of about three meters high in the opposite wall that he already had, and to place a net in the middle, and closing the sides with 4 walls that had an average height. In total, the enclosure had dimensions of 20×10 meters. The rules applied were the same as those of tennis, but with the difference that it was allowed to use the walls for rebounds. It was played with wooden paddles and was called Paddle-Tennis.

Subsequently, in 1974, the figure of Prince Alfonso Hohenlohe came into play.
Alfonso of Hohenlohe
He is considered to be one of the main precursors who allowed the widespread diffusion of paddle tennis all over the world. In that year, Enrique Corcuera invited his friend Alfonso de Hohenlohe to his estate to spend a few days. And there he showed him the new sport he had devised. Alfonso saw opportunities in him and decided to take him to the Costa del Sol in Spain that same year of 1974 to promote him in his real estate business. He built two courts in his Marbella Club, with some modifications, integrating the fence in place of the walls.

One year after the arrival of paddle tennis in Spain,
Julio Menditengui
a friend of Hohenlohe, arrived in Argentina, a country that ended up being a power in this sport.

As early as 1991, the leaders of the
Argentine Padel Association
and the
Spanish Association
agreed on the foundation in Madrid of the
International Padel Federation
and the Spanish Association agreed to establish the International Padel Federation in Madrid, establishing international rules of the game.

In the 90’s, paddle tennis gained great popularity in Spain, thanks to the impulse given by figures such as the great legend of tennis
Manolo Santana
. It even caused some tennis players to change discipline.

Since then, paddle tennis has not stopped growing. In fact, during the pandemic, paddle tennis became the most popular sport, according to various surveys.

The reasons for its success are diverse. It is a sport suitable and very accessible to any age, being less physically demanding than tennis. It’s easy to start playing even if you’ve never played sports before, because you get better quickly and that ends up getting players hooked. In addition, we must not forget its social aspect, since it is a fun game where you are close to other players, facilitating interaction.
